Shelley Fisher Fishkin Prize for International Scholarship Transnational American Studies 2022 Winners

The  American Studies Association has just awarded the 2022  “Shelley Fisher Fishkin Prize for International Scholarship Transnational American Studies.” The winner of the prize (awarded annually since 2019 by the International Committee of the American Studies Association) is Dr. Mahshid Mayar (Universität du Köln, Germany), for her  highly original and stimulating book,   Citizens And Rulers Of The World: The American Child And The Cartographic Pedagogies Of Empire (University of North Carolina Press, 2022). The ASA’s International Committee will host a  virtual award ceremony on November 11th @ 11 AM Eastern, which will feature, in addition to comments from Dr. Mahshid Mayar , a keynote talk on “Global Port Cities by Brian T. Edwards (Dean and Professor, School of Liberal Arts, Tulane University, USA), and a featured musical performance by Mahmoud ‘Mood’ Chouki.
