Yuhe Faye Wang

Yuhe Faye Wang graduated from Pomona College with a BA in Gender and Women’s Studies with a Focus in Economics and is a PhD Candidate in American Studies at Yale University. She studies the history of race, capitalism and the law in the nineteenth-century American West. Her current project explores how the civil rights of corporations, established in the nineteenth century, were built upon the civil rights of Chinese immigrants, inextricably linking corporate law to the adjudication of racial discrimination in the United States. Her research has been supported by fellowships from the Mellon/ACLS and The Huntington Library, among others.
