American Studies enriches my life beyond the classroom. It equips me with the critical thinking tools to navigate the myths that permeate my life, understand community dynamics, and analyze the media and culture I swim in. Learning about the narratives, technologies, and institutions of the country I am from not only allows me to orient myself in this way but also helps me identify opportunities for change within the systems that govern us. Within the classroom, this major has improved my practical skills like writing, discussing, and presenting but has also nurtured the more intangible aspects of myself, like curiosity and creativity. 

I like to play trivia and watch horror movies.
