I was instantly drawn to American Studies because of the ability to explore my interests as not solely a student, but as a person! In my academics, I love centering unique personal histories and narratives of identity; they’re a valuable resource for connection to broader themes in American culture. If asked to explain the core of American Studies to a stranger in three words, I would undoubtedly choose “learning for passion.” In my spare time, you can find me hiking, being a public speaking coach for children, travelling with Stanford’s Model UN team, memorizing birthdays, hunting down Lucky Charms at the dining halls, and arguing how Legally Blonde is history’s finest film, or – on a really good day – all of the above!
